At your first consultation, you can discuss your problem and there will also generally be an examination. We will provide you with an assessment of your problem however sometimes some further information may be required. If this is the case, you may be referred for further tests.

At all times your treatment plan will be discussed with you and you will remain in control of your treatment. The best possible treatment will be offered to you and all the aspects involved will be discussed and any questions answered. You can bring a family member or friend along to your consultations as a support person.

Cardiac catheterization is a minimally invasive procedure generally employed to diagnose and treat certain heart conditions. It involves threading a thin flexible tube through a blood vessel to the heart. Your doctor can perform diagnostic tests and some procedures on your heart with the help of the catheter.

Following your procedure, your physician will provide specific instructions on caring for your procedure site, medications you need to take, and complications to look out for.

At each follow up visit, please keep your doctor informed of your recovery/progress and contact your doctor for any health concerns you have in between visits. Please call the office to make appointments for your visits.

Various follow-up visits may include:

  • Routine 6-week post-operative review appointment
  • On-going 3/6/12 monthly reviews for monitoring
